BSL Action CIC (Bob Sign Language Action Community Interest Company)

BSL Action CIC was founded in July 2014. Registered Company number:- 9133976. BSL Action CIC is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund to provide free BSL courses for people who struggle to communicate with deaf people or want a possible career in the deaf community.

Now BSL Action CIC is offering a free BSL Level 3 course funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.

Maximum number of students per class: 10

Learn how to relate with people in the deaf community with British Sign Language.  This free online course will teach you the important elements of British Sign Language. It is designed for learners who already have competence in BSL at Level 2 and wish to further develop their skills and knowledge.  Learners will gain a more advanced understanding of the structure and function of British Sign Language, as well as deeper insight into the Deaf Community and Deaf Culture.  You will learn about a range of topics, including Home life, Social/Recreational activities, Education/Training, Employment, Consumer issues/Daily living, as well as Deaf history and Culture

Successful Level 2 candidates can apply for BSL Level 3 in the new academic year 2026-2027.

Eligible for Funding?

To be eligible for funding you must meet ALL the following criteria:

Unemployed (evidence and ID will be required)

Currently live in England

Aged 18 and over

We have limited spaces and will only consider those who fulfil ALL criteria as stated above. Please note that All BSL lessons will run on Thursday mornings, 9am – 12pm and this will not change throughout Levels 3.
